Background of the Study

Agro-processing businesses play a crucial role in transforming raw agricultural products into finished goods, contributing to economic development, food security, and employment in Jalingo LGA. Effective financial accounting is essential for these businesses to manage costs, track revenues, and plan for growth. This study aims to explore how financial accounting practices influence the performance and sustainability of agro-processing businesses in Jalingo LGA.

Statement of the Problem

Many agro-processing businesses in Jalingo LGA face challenges related to poor financial management, including inaccurate record-keeping, lack of proper budgeting, and inadequate financial planning. These issues can negatively impact business performance, profitability, and growth. This study will assess the role of financial accounting in enhancing the operational efficiency and success of agro-processing businesses in Jalingo LGA.

1. H₀: Financial accounting does not significantly impact the performance of agro-processing businesses in Jalingo LGA.

2. H₀: There is no significant relationship between financial accounting practices and the profitability of agro-processing businesses in Jalingo LGA.

Significance of the Study

This study will provide valuable insights into how financial accounting practices can improve the performance and sustainability of agro-processing businesses.
